GIVE BETWEEN NOW AND 2015 AND TAKE YOUR PLACE AS A CHARTER MEMBER OF OUR CLUB’S SECOND CENTURY!

Founded in 1915, The Rotary Club of Hutchinson has a long and rich tradition as the largest and oldest civic organization in Reno County.  Thanks to our forward-thinking founders, we are the 189th club of more than 32,000 chartered by Rotary International.  Indeed, our club history is rivaled by few others.  We’ve conducted thousands of meetings and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars plus countless volunteer service hours to causes in our community and worldwide.

BUT A STRONG PAST DOES LITTLE TO GUARANTEE A STRONG FUTURE.  While some of today’s Rotary clubs struggle to survive, others are taking steps to help ensure that the work of previous generations of Rotarians will not be lost on future ones.

WHAT IS THE GOAL?   To help ensure our club remains a viable Hutchinson asset The Endowed Fund is a formal way to build upon and perpetuate the legacy and relevance of our club for future generations.  By helping to enable the growth of the Endowed Fund, you’ll be contributing to our club’s continued involvement in our community for many generations to come.  Specifically, we plan to raise $100,000 in celebration of our centennial in 2015.

HOW WILL THIS BE FUNDED?  There are multiple opportunities for giving.  The Endowed Fund is an ideal way to remember deceased members of the Rotary Club of Hutchinson via a memorial gift.  It’s an appropriate vehicle for tax-deductible, year-end charitable giving.  The Endowed Fund is a worthy candidate for estate planning consideration.  Additionally, our club’s board may elect to contribute a portion of Special Recognition Proceeds (fines) to the Endowed Fund.  Individual club members may make gifts of any amount at any time and future club fundraisers may be conducted in support of the Endowed Fund.  To make a gift, simply contact the Hutchinson Community Foundation, speak to our Club Secretary, or talk with Carol Carr, the Endowed Fund Chairperson for more information.

HOW WILL THE INTEREST BE SPENT?  Locally, as directed by Rotarians.  Once the principal balance of the Fund reaches $50,000, an Endowed Fund Committee of Rotarians chaired by a board member may, with board approval, elect to spend a designated portion of any interest income on special Rotary projects.  Examples may include, but are not limited to, community improvement initiatives, programs for local schools or youth organizations, support of non-profit organizations, local Rotary club or district projects and/or other projects in keeping with the goals and ideals of Rotary in Hutchinson and Reno County.

HOW WILL I BE RECOGNIZED?  As a Charter Member of our club’s second century gifts made by December 31, 2015 will be recognized on our special banner that hangs at all club meetings, via our website and newsletter and in future Endowed Fund publications.  Unless you request anonymity, the sum of your giving by December 31, 2015 will qualify for special Charter Member status as follows:

BRONZE CHARTER MEMBER:                                    $1 - $99
SILVER CHARTER MEMBER                                      $100-$499
GOLD CHARTER MEMBER:                                       $500-$999
PLATINUM CHARTER MEMBER:                                 $1000-$4,999
DIAMOND CHARTER MEMBER:                                  $5,000+
